About Ka Huna or Kahuna and Hawaiian Massage...
Ka Huna is a massage technique from Hawaii. Ka Huna is sometimes called ‘the dance of breath and life from the heart’. ‘Huna’ is a vibration, a deep inner resonance which is said to reflect our true nature. Ka Huna is especially helpful for treating emotional upset that hinders you from living life to its fullest:
- A lack or need
- Doubt or distrust
- Hurt or abuse
- Confusion
- Conflict
- Shock
- Fear
- Anger
- Grief
- Jealousy and guilt
- Limiting beliefs
- The inability to love or be expressive
- Problems with gender and sexuality
- Body-image and confidence
Ka Huna is a form of body and energy work essentially performed to align the physical, spiritual and emotional bodies of an individual. Your practitioner uses long, flowing, rhythmical strokes to facilitate deep relaxation of mind and body. The use of intuitive movement, breathing and rhythmic music helps to heighten awareness of yourself which then leads to the openness of change and progression.
Alternating light and deep pressure applied to specific body points with the hands, forearms and elbows, releases blockages held on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels of your being. You are left feeling balanced, light, clear and with a sense of purpose and place in life.
According to Huna wisdom the human being is composed of four bodies, three minds, Mana life force energy and five elements. The four bodies are the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The three minds, or selves, are the unconscious bodymind, the conscious mind of intelligence, will and ego and the higher mind of self-knowing.
The objective of this Massage is to work with intent, rather than intention. The Massage unfolds in a spontaneous manner rather than a premeditated, prescriptive method of treatment. The breadth and depth possible in the performance of Hawaiian Massage requires your practitioner to be capable of meeting any situation or intensity that may arise. Traditionally, training in this skill was by indentured apprenticeship with a Kahuna Priest for many, many years.
